Build Your Backrooms Monster List

Use the current Build Your Backrooms monster index with evidence status, source context, comparison fields, and a process for documenting new entries.

The currently documented Build Your Backrooms monster list contains Smiler. That is intentionally not called a complete roster. Smiler is named by an official Roblox product for Universe 10376944238; no reliable public source reviewed on 2026-08-05 provided a full in-game list with every creature, cost, behavior, and unlock.

Smiler

Official source context: included by name in the current “3000 Cash + Smiler + Empty Room + Flick Corridor” game-pass product.

Known role: monster available for the game’s catch-and-maze loop; exact behavior is not stated by the product.

Unknown: normal acquisition, cost, rarity, range, cooldown, strength, reward, and best placement.

This narrow index is more useful than a long guessed roster. Names from general Backrooms fiction, thumbnails, another Roblox experience, or an unrelated Minecraft mod are not evidence for this game.

Fields required for a new entry

Before adding another monster, capture the exact in-game name and enough current information to distinguish it from a cosmetic, bundle image, or unrelated entity. A useful entry should include:

  • where the name appears;
  • whether the source is official, live in-game, or community reported;
  • how the player obtains or selects it;
  • where it can be placed;
  • what behavior is visibly demonstrated;
  • any cooldown or slot interaction shown by the current interface;
  • the UTC check date;
  • fields that remain unknown.

A current detailed walkthrough can support a cautious entry when it names the exact game and demonstrates the operation. One source earns Community reported status; agreement across independent current sources earns Community corroborated. Neither should be labeled official.

How to compare owned monsters

Use the same route segment and a similar visitor observation window. Test one monster, record catches, downtime, and traffic, then replace it with the comparison monster without redesigning the rooms. This does not reveal hidden stats, but it produces account-specific evidence for the current maze.

Compare by role rather than name recognition. One monster may suit frequent early traffic, another a deeper route, and another a branch. Those are test categories, not claims that specific undisclosed monsters have those roles.

Do not rank from price alone. A bundle or paid product can package convenience and content together; its cost does not prove the monster’s relative strength.

Slots and cooldown fields

Official Store products confirm that monster slots and cooldown exist. Record the baseline displayed on your account before attributing a difference to a creature. Paid ownership can change capacity or timing and make creator footage an unfair comparison with an F2P account.

For every test, note whether the monster was available or recovering. A visitor passing during cooldown should not be counted as proof of missing range or weak behavior.

Acquisition evidence

Smiler’s official bundle proves one paid acquisition context existed at the check date. It does not prove there is no normal free route, that the bundle is permanent, or that Smiler is exclusive. Check current collection and Shop screens before deciding.

For any newly seen monster, record the live source before spending. Separate a displayed preview from an owned item, and separate a creator’s late-game inventory from your unlock path.

Why this is not a tier list

The developer says players collect stronger monsters for more cash, so comparative strength exists in some form. A responsible tier list still needs a sufficiently broad roster, common test conditions, criteria, and current values. Those are not publicly available here.

Until then, use a personal placement table: monster, route segment, visitors observed, catches, cooldown note, and resulting cash or progression. It helps your account without pretending to be exhaustive.

Add-to-index checklist

  1. Confirm the exact experience and current game name.
  2. Capture the monster name from a live or directly relevant source.
  3. Record acquisition and placement operations that are actually shown.
  4. Omit unsupported range, rate, and reward fields.
  5. Label confidence and check date.
  6. Compare wording with existing entries to avoid aliases or duplicates.

Monster list FAQ

Is Smiler the only monster?

No such claim is made. It is the only monster name confirmed by the official evidence reviewed for this index.

Why not use a Backrooms lore list?

Fictional entities do not automatically exist in this Roblox experience. Each entry needs game-specific evidence.

When will the list expand?

When official, in-game, or detailed current community evidence supports useful acquisition and operation fields.
